About Last Place On Earth

Last Place on Earth isn’t just a game shop — it’s a home base for adventure, laughter, and connection. Step inside and you’ll feel it immediately: the cozy glow, the buzz of dice hitting the tables, and the thrill of discovering something new. With over 1,000 games on the shelves, the shop is alive with possibility, from fast-paced party favorites to indie gems you never knew you needed.
What makes Last Place truly special is its energy. On any given night, you’ll find the tables packed with players leaping into worlds of magic, mystery, and mayhem. Dungeons & Dragons sessions span the week with themed nights that welcome everyone — from total beginners to seasoned adventurers. For those craving something different, there are murder mysteries, one-shots, spooky RPGs, and an ever-growing roster of events that keep the community buzzing.
But it’s not just about the games. Last Place on Earth thrives on atmosphere. It’s the laughter across the room when a critical success changes everything. It’s the camaraderie of strangers who become friends by the end of the night. It’s the little details — the murals, the curated shelves, the feeling that you’ve stepped into a space designed to spark joy and connection.
In a city full of noise and endless options, Last Place on Earth stands out as a sanctuary of play. It’s where date nights turn into core memories, where friend groups discover their next favorite obsession, and where the spirit of imagination is celebrated every single day.
About the Owner
Whitney Wolfe is a native New Yorker, born in Manhattan, raised in Queens, and for nearly 15 years has poured her creativity into Brooklyn’s cultural fabric. Her background in music, film, and dance gave her a foundation in storytelling and performance, and her true spark comes from blending those passions with community building. Whitney thrives on bringing people together—through laughter, imagination, and creating spaces where everyone feels comfortable being themselves.
That passion grew into Last Place on Earth, a board game shop and community hub that has become one of the most beloved gathering spots in New York City. Under Whitney’s leadership, it isn’t just a store—it’s a cozy, welcoming world where friendships form, adventures begin, and creativity takes center stage. With a full roster of Dungeon Masters, staff, and collaborators, she curates a calendar of unique events.
Whitney’s approach to gaming is rooted in joy. As someone who found her way into games a little later in life, she understands how intimidating tabletop gaming can feel at first. Her specialty is making it accessible: goofy, easygoing, high-energy games that break the ice and spark connection. Her knack for recommending just the right title has helped countless customers branch out from the “old classics” and fall in love with fresh, indie favorites.
Beyond games, Whitney is a builder of worlds: a storyteller, entrepreneur, and community leader. She designs immersive experiences, curates afterschool programs that nurture kids’ creativity, and dreams up the future of Last Place on Earth—alongside its upcoming sister space, 3rd Place from the Sun. No matter the project, she brings imagination, warmth, and a touch of playful mischief.
